The Air Jordan 6 made its debut in 1991 and was designed by Tinker Hatfield. Five original colorways were released. Distinguishing the model are its Huarache-like inner sleeve made of neoprene and its heel tab that resembles a spoiler. The AJ6 Retro "UNC" 2022 colorway, in particular, was released in March of that year.

The model boasts a white leather upper with blue nubuck underlays. It includes a blue windowed tongue and lace locks, as well as a black and blue heel tab and woven heel tag. The polyurethane midsole is black and the icy blue translucent outsole is rubber.
