In celebration of Chinese New Year, the Jordan Brand releases new versions of their Air Jordan sneakers annually.
To commemorate the Year of the Rooster in 2017, two colorways were dropped for the Air Jordan 12. In the United States, these were released in January. The colorway for the men's shoe was heavily inspired by that of the first AJ12s released in 1996.
This particular Air Jordan 12 Retro "Chinese New Year" for men features a white upper with a reflective finish, and touches of black on the mudguard, outsole, lining, and heel. Special details include Chinese characters meaning 'twelve' on the insole and tongue, a textured overlay on the mudguard that resembles basket weaving, and gold accents by the upper laces and on the side panel.
